Damn this! Almost done

So I have wasted yet another day for 2% but I honestly cannot help it!!
I am almost done… I think!
I realise in coding, every new success comes with new errors!!
This is weirdly fun… I am enjoying it and I think I’d enjoy it much more if it weren’t for the fact that I should be studying for exams!

It’s as if I can see the end of the tunnel.. but it’s moving with me as I run towards it!
We will see! Deadline is tomorrow and I am definitely done after tonight… and so I say!

Damn my love for challenge

So after spending the last week pulling my hair and killing my brains trying to figure out all the scripts we need to create this web server built on BASH, yesterday the head demonstrator posted the “skeleton” of all the scripts that we need… 2 days before the deadline. For those who only started the project on Friday, lucky them they don’t have to go through hell like some of us did. However for those of us who did go through hell, does that mean our blood spilled efforts have gone to waste?!
I had a look at these so called skeletons and they contained much simpler codes than my own. However I was not ready to just give up all my hard work and efforts to start all over again using his skeleton scripts!
My classmates and I messaged back and forth discussing our “discontent” with this. It’s quite unfair, to be honest, to those who actually tried to think of a solution from scratch! So after much debate I decided that I am just going to leave the rest of the project and not even going to use the skeleton that was provided! Because if I did that would mean I needed to first read it and understand what the scripts and codes are doing, and then figure out the blanks that are there.

Oh and did I mention that all this work is only worth 10% of the module?!

So I as I mentioned above I had decided to just give up and study for my exams instead because I’ve wasted enough time on this! However, due to my annoyingly determined nature of not giving up and taking on challenges… I couldn’t focus on anything else! I tried to study other modules but I ended up thinking about how to complete the assignment for the web server. So I caved in and continued it. My super complicated codes just got more complicated and I think I may have just earned myself an extra 1% if even after spending a whole Saturday and the first hour of Sunday on it.. yes I was up until 1am trying to complete it.

Was it worth it you ask??? Well, honestly, not in the slightest! But nothing could be done until I had exhausted all ideas and knowledge of how to write the codes! So now I can finally move on! I didn’t complete it though, but I know exactly why that is and that problem is something I don’t know how to solve as we never learnt about it in class nor did google give any good insights! so I guess I can finally put this behind and move to the next challenge!

Starting the year 2015..

Why not start it with giving some gifts to my sister and her boyfriend who are only here for another 3 days.
I used water colour. Acrylics and a fine point black pen

This one I gave to Tony because him and my sister are doing the whole long distance thing and she’s much smaller than him

And this one I gave to my lil sister. The small one to the left represents her and the bigger one on the left is me. This was done all in water colour and is used masking fluid to help make the design on the feathers.

And just want to say all of my paintings are originals (so I don’t use reference). I like to think up ideas that are unique and personal so they really are one of a kind 😀

I do commissioned work and for more information and art work here’s my Facebook page:

And hope everyone is having a fabulous new year!

Irish people.

So I have very recently discovered this guy on facebook called James Donnelly and he is a seriously funny Irishman! He uploads videos of what he perceives as the Irish people in different situations and scenarios, and he’s just hilarious!

Don’t believe me? Check him out in the link below and have a laugh
